ATD is pleased to announce auditions for our next production, Anton Chekhov’s four-act comedy, The Seagull. Open call auditions will be held at the Blanchard Room in the Mary Stephens Branch of the Yolo County Library (315 E. 14th Street in Davis) on December 17, 11am to 1pm, and December 18, 1pm to 2pm. If you would like to audition but cannot make either date, please contact us to schedule an audition appointment (firstname.lastname@example.org).
As this play includes some longer passages in the dialogue, we encourage you to prepare a short monolog from a published translation of The Seagull. If you have not performed with ATD before, please bring a theatrical resume and headshot. Additional readings will be selections from the script. This seminal play is a cultural treasure with fabulous roles for twelve men and women. We encourage everyone to audition!
Performances will be at the Davis Cemetery District and Arboretum on April 8-11 and May 6-9 on an outdoor stage. In addition to being a historic and contemporary cemetery, the Cemetery District is also a beautiful open park and home to an art gallery, Gallery 1855. This unusual venue and schedule will allow us to perform with the light of a full moon. We encourage you to work with ATD for this unique production as we collaborate with another great Davis organization that values art and history.
As usual, we will need lots of additional help to make this show a reality. If you’d like to be involved on the production team in a way other than acting, please let us know.
