Timothy Nutter : Artistic Director
Timothy founded ATD in 2013 to bring artistic theatre to his home town. He studied theatre and dance at SUNY Purchase, acting at the Terry Schreiber Studio and Theatre, modern dance in NYC with various artists, philosophy at Antioch College, Villanova University and Exeter University, and ballroom dance with Barbara Nicholas. Locally he has choreographed for the Davis Community Chorale, the Davis Art Center ballet program, the DHS Jazz Choir and the Winters Shakespeare Workshop. He has taught ballet, partnering and modern dance at SynRG Arts & Wellness, the Davis Art Center, the Davis Holistic Health Center and Barbara’s Dancing Tonight. Besides directing and producing for ATD, Timothy also writes original script adaptations for the group, working with translator Adam Siegel. His original music can be heard around town at venues such as the Natsoulas Gallery, Rootstock, Sophia’s, and the Performer’s Circle.
Lisa studied acting in SUNY Purchase’s Company Six, directed by Walt Witcover. She studied dance with Erie Civic Ballet and at Chautauqua Institution. Lisa came to California to study philosophy, then got her law degree from UCLA. She brought up two children in Davis schools. Past roles include Arkadina in The Seagull, Aunt Julle in Hedda Gabler, Judith in Hay Fever, Marina in Uncle Vanya, and Aline in The Master Builder. After a career in business and government litigation, she is excited to help bring masterworks of modern theater to Davis.
